At Heartland, we want to be connected to each other. We’d challenge you to join a small group. We know that small groups allow us to grow personally and enable us to develop more meaningful relationships with others.

Our Small Groups operate in cycles. We just finished our winter cycle.
Our upcoming Spring Cycle operates during May and June

During the Spring Cycle, our Small Groups engage in topical and study discussion.

Between cycles, (and owing to COVID-19 response measures), our Small Groups are discussing the alternative content, posted below.

Making Space – Jeff Vanderstelt

Do you know what’s most important in life? Do you feel too busy to make time for those things? This 8-session Bible study gleans wisdom from the Book of Proverbs and from the example of Jesus to show you how to center your life on God’s priorities. You will examine the things that matter most to God and to you as a follower of Christ. Then you will learn to apply godly wisdom that will help you incorporate these activities into your busy life. In some cases, you will find that you are doing the wrong things. Or you might find that you are doing the right things for the wrong reason or in the wrong way, so they are not life-giving or fulfilling. Wisdom is learning how to do the right things at the right time in the right way. Allow God to show you what is most important in life and when and how to engage in those activities.

Renovate – Jacob Armstrong

Using the Book of Nehemiah, popular author and pastor Jacob Armstrong explores the physical and spiritual renovation experienced by the nation of Judah. Nehemiah knew that his plan for renovating the wall and gates of Jerusalem would be hard work. But equally hard would be the spiritual renovation of the Jewish people as they returned to their homeland. This six-session series helps participants examine their lives to see what needs to be renovated and how those renovations will accomplish God’s purpose.

The New Testament You Never Knew – N.T. Wright and Michael Bird

Here’s your chance to take a guided tour of the entire New Testament with world-famous experts N.T. Wright and Michael Bird via eight lively video sessions: story of the New Testament; world of Jesus; life and death of Jesus; resurrection of Jesus; the apostle Paul; the early Christians; mission of the church; how the New Testament came to be.

Proven – Jennie Allen

Too many of us walk through life feeling as if we don’t measure up. We always seem to thirst for more. We think if we could only work harder or be better, we could be enough. But the truth is, we will never be enough. And thankfully, we don’t have to be. This 8-session study walks through key passages in the Book of John to demonstrate how only Jesus is enough. We don’t have to prove anything because Jesus has already proven everything. Discover how our thirsty hearts can only be quenched by the living water.

For some of our special interest Small Groups, you can also participate in a group covering one of the following studies:

Together for Good – Family Life

The workshop provides insights and research to help couples understand more fully what is really going on in our marriage relationships, focusing on the areas of communication, conflict, sex and spirituality.
